It Ain't Fair

The first time each of my kids ever whined "it's not faaaaiiiiir!", I told them them "Life isn't fair and the sooner you accept that, the happier you'll be."

But sometimes I just can't be happy.

Arrested Developement, maybe the funniest comedy ever aired, was cancelled after three seasons.

SportsNight, by far the best thing Aaron Sorkin ever did, was cancelled after two seasons.

Freaks and Geeks, by far the best show about life as a teenager, was cancelled after only one season.

But this is the worst:
Firefly didn't even last an entire season.

I had never even heard of this show.  I only bought it because Sam's Club had it for $17.88 and I thought it would be a fun thing to watch in the car on the way to Denver a few weeks ago.

It's one of the best shows I've ever seen.

It's enough to make me cry that I never knew about it, never saw it on tv and that makes me one of the reasons it only lasted 14 episodes, and three of those never aired.

I KILLED FIREFLY!!

I'm so sorry.  I didn't know.

It kills me to think of all the adventures we'll never get to see!

Will Simon ever find out what the alliance did to his sister's brain?

Will River ever become herself again?

Just what are the extent of her mental powers?

Will Jayne ever be trustworthy?

Will Wash and Zoe ever have a child?

Will Inara ever tell Mal how she feels?

Will Mal ever get to take satisfactory revenge on the alliance, and the army that left him for dead?

Who is Shepard Book, really?

Every episode had lines in it that made me laugh out loud.  Two of my favorites; "Why'd ya order a dead guy?" and "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eatin' steak!"

I watched the last episode last night and I went out and bought the movie, Serenity today.

I'll watch it as soon as Katherine gets booted off Idol.

I thought everybody was pretty boring last night.  I do think Elliot is getting better all the time and if he could just fix his teeth, he'd almost be cute now.  Almost.

Chris was excellent.  For the most part they all sang dull songs.

Speaking of which, I can't tell you how disappointed I am that when the catagory was Love Songs, no one sang John Deere Green.

Now that's a love song.
