I was all ready to write about the American Idol finals and since Chris couldn't win, I hoped Taylor would and now I can't even remember why I cared. 

Tuesday, I received some awful news.

A friend of my family was killed in a car accident Monday night.

She was 46, the mother of three, the wife of my brother's best friend and just a lovely, sweet person.

In the blink of an eye, things went from great to gone.

A life is over, a family has a gaping hole in it and a happy marriage is over.

Hug your loved ones as often as possible, look both ways and always wear your seatbelt.
