Happy to pay for Healthcare

My Dad is going to be 79 this summer. He's very fit active and healthy and I can hardly believe he's pushing 80 years old. Occassionally, however, he gets little reminders from his body that it's tired and needs a little pampering.
He was telling me tonight about something his doctor wants him to do; wear a monitor for several weeks. This thing would be able to detect heart fibrillations even when Dad felt nothing. Should anything like that occur, the monitor would send a signal to a technician who would then inform the doctor.
"So theoretically," I asked "You could be out playing golf with your buddies, your cell phone could ring and it would be your doctor telling you he's sent an ambulance to get you because you're about to have a heart attack?"
"Yep!" he nodded. "Of course the guys would just think it was an excuse not to finish a bad round."
Medical technology is awe inspiring. People complain about the costs, and they are high but boyo boy, are we gettng a bang for our buck.
