One computer is in the shop and one is being used all day and night by Zack, who's finishing up his online Algebra course.

He just finished his last quiz so I finally get some face time with my electronic friend.

I love all the new stuff.

The new dishwasher doesn't hold as many dishes as the old one but it washes them better and in half the time, so I like it much, much better.  The new power drill doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the old one but it's consequently lighter and easier to handle so I'm very happy about that, as well.  I just hung the gorgeous waverly curtains in Zack's room (he doesn't care as long as they block out the light.  It's not like it's Laura Ashley wallpaper.  Sheesh.) and the lighter drill made the job much easier.  I never used the built in level or the magnetic bit pad anyway.

The ipod dock is better than any stereo system we've ever owned and it's portable and contains every single song we own.  What could be better?

I can hardly wait for the granite guys to put in the new counters.  When they do, they'll also install the new sink and faucet and hook everything back up, including the disposal.  They were the only company we talked to that would do the tear out and rehook everything back up.  The granite is ridiculously beautiful and the whole job will cost about the same as having the synthetic stone installed by anyone else.

I also had to buy a new umbrella for the deck.  Last week, during a very gusty but curiously dry storm, our old one blew over the rainbow.  It was found days later, wedged behind the garage, wearing a pair of ruby slippers but when I brought it out we discovered several of the spokes shattered.  Poor thing.  It only lasted six weeks.  Fortunately Menard's still had some.

I've got more curtains to hang down in the basement, shelves to put up in Zack's room and picture frames to be repaired and paintings to be matted and all I want to do is sit here and write about nothing.  The kids are yammering for dinner so I'd better  go feed them before it gets ugly up there.

It's only 75degrees out but the humidity is horrendous.  I turned on the airconditioning in the hope of reducing the yuck factor.  so far, it's not working.
