A woman is kneeling on the floor, scraping mashed m&ms out of the carpet.  She's weeping.  Is it because she can't get the chocolate out of her carpet?

No.  

Lean in close and you can hear her whimpering to herself  "Why? Why?  Why would anyone waste a perfectly good m&m this way, why?"
