Last night as Jay and Zack were polishing off a pot of chilli while watching football in adjoining rooms (Jay on the porch cuz it's a hidef tv, Zack in the tv room cuz it's a comfier couch) and hollering at each other over the ineptitude of the Gophers, I was up in my office painting.  When the weather's lousy I always get more work done.  Of course, with the kids back in school and no one to goof around with all day or tempt me by asking if I want to go swimming/biking/walking/to Gramma's, I tend to get a lot more work done.

The phone rang and it was Katie, saying that our friends, Liz and Terri, had just successfully completed a huge catoring job and were out at Sunsets celebrating.  So I took a shower and off to the wilds of Wayzata for dinner and drinks.  I met Terri's husband, Brad.  He was very nice and funny and insisted on picking up the tab.  Gotta love that in a guy!

At about nine, Liz, Katie and I headed back into town to hit the end of the Blogger Party at Keegans.  I knew that a lot of them would be gone by ten o'clock, but we lucked out and the patio was still full of bloggers with cigars.  Hmmm....I think that's the name of a song by Mary Chapin Carpenter...no, that was Girls with Guitars.

Anyway, as usual we had a good time chattin up the faces behind the names.  Liz was  a little disappointed because Lileks wasn't there and she looooves our James.  Liz doesn't  blog or read them so she had no idea who anyone was but she was game anyway and very impressed with how nice everyone was.  She wasn't surprised that no one knew the name of my blog (Mitch at least remembered that I have one, bless his enormous heart) because even Liz didn't know until twenty minutes earlier that this exists.

My plan to write under the radar for eternity is working.

Josie just came downstairs, saw me in my jammies and reminded me that we are supposed to be at church in ten minutes.  Oh well, that's why they have another mass at 4:30 pm.
