Note to self: Never doubt Pixar again.
I got a call from my sister this morning. She and her hubby decided they needed to go see a show tonight.
In Denver.
Could their kids stay here?
Well, of course. So now my basement is packed with little girls. Finbar stood it for about an hour and then he called for rescue. Too many girls around here. The funny part is he called Mary Jeanne for help. So he's been hanging out with MJ all evening. She's going to drop him off here later. She also lent me her copy of Cars for the kids to watch. I'd never seen it so after dinner, we all watched it.
It was great!!
I ignored it when it came out last summer, and that was a mistake. It was really funny and lots of the jokes sailed right over the heads of the kids I was watching it with. I kept bursting out laughing and they would all turn to me saying "what?" cuz they didn't get what was so funny about a voice in the crowd shouting "Freebird!" during a lull in the rally on screen.
This has been a good weekend. Josie and Zack both got their report cards yesterday. Josie got straight A's again. She doesn't do it every time, but she does it pretty often! Then, in her bid to win the Best Kid Ever Award, she got up early this morning and cleaned the kitchen and was just finishing mopping the floor when I got up. Seriously. She really did that.
She was probably out joyriding in my van last night.
Zack is a happy camper too; he passed everything and even scored two A's and two B's!
God is in his heaven and all is right with the world.
The other day, Zack declared that the fact that you could fry bacon and then cook eggs in the grease was proof enough for him of intelligent design. He said it was all too perfect to have happened accidentally.
I like that philosophy.
