Basketball Friday Night

The season is now in full swing.  Once I leave the house to pick up Josie in the afternoon, it's non stop driving for the next three hours, at least three days a week.  Yesterday, I picked Josie up, dropped Zack off at basketball, dropped Josie off at karate, crammed in a quick run, then picked up Josie and swung around to get Zack, then finally home for dinner, four hours after I left to pick Josie up from school.  And it's no where near as bad as the old days when I had four kids playing for four different schools.

Tonight, Zack suited up for Varsity for the first time.  I was excited to see him, even though I knew he probably wouldn't play, due to an injured hamstring early this week.  The game was as ugly as sin and almost as fun.  Both teams were clueless but Dang, they had HEART!  The Lakers were down by as many as twelve or fifteen at one point, but they never gave up.  They clawed their way back to within a point but missed too many free throws in the stretch to overcome.  Both teams hustled like stars but neither could shoot worth a darn.  Neither team scored fifty points.  Zack was resigned to sitting on the bench throughout his first game.  He said he didn't expect to play in the next one, either but hoped to be back in form by next Friday.  I hope he is, I love to see him play.

I miss watching Tyler play.  Basketball is all that boy did from the time he was four until two years ago.  He was really a blast to watch.  Now he's coaching and having all the fun and none of the injuries, but he's doing it in Texas.  HE loves it down there and chances are he'll never move back.  How's that for ungrateful?  On the other hand, Texas could be a great place to visit!

Josie's class is playing basketball in gym now.  She told me that today she was playing two on three against three girls who all play on teams and Josie's one teammate was a girl who doesn't play any sports.  Her team mate had to use the ladies room adn while she was gone, Josie won the game, playing one on  three.  Turns out if you can shoot at all, and don't have to worry about passing, it's not that hard.  She also made the high honor roll at school.  Only the 6,7 and 8th graders are included on the honor roll at her school, so she's never been eligible before.  Straight A's will get you on that list, every time.

Jay had a game tonight, but his games always take a back seat to the kids games, even when the kid is on the bench.  That's the way it's always been, that's the way it should be.

Now I have to go back to arguing with my brother over who's better looking; Jim Caviezel or Hugh Jackman.*

*this is what is known as a "win-win" situation.

Jim Caweesal and Huge Jackman could take leasons from (please pronounce this in a spanish accent) Antonio Bandaras. I watched "Take the lead" on the plane ride down to San Salvador. I may have actually swooned at one point and think the lady behind me was pleasuring herself. Elvis wishes he had hair like that, paired with the calm grace of a jungle cat. Whether or not he gets the girl is just as certain as whether or not an entire pride will bring down an injured antelope. The oozing (especially for the lady behind me) sexuality that the latins all seem to have, sure comes in handy (???) on screen and off. So Jimmy Caviesal and Heewj Akman can pull up a chair, take some notes, and learn from the master.

Of couse he wasted it all by marrying the "My face is a cut and paste project" who is the women who brought home the point Jerry was trying to make with 'good naked' and 'bad naked'- Melanie Griffith, call sign 'eew'.
