Panicked last night at 7:03 when Jay said "Remember that time we missed an hour of 24 cuz we didn't know it started at 7:00?"  We stared stupidly at each other, then ran screaming for the tv room.

Sure enough, we missed the first four minutes of the show.  DAMN!!

Over a year ago, I had talked with my brother Joe and his wife, Heidi about having them and their kids over for movies and Kwan's.

Kwan's is the Chinese resteraunt down the block from us that we order from two or three times a month.  Best take out food ever.  Kwan's is a neighborhood institution.  Several years ago Joe, Heidi and the kids had stopped in at Kwan's to get some dinner to take home with them.  They've been craving the stuff ever since.

Well, due to scheduling problems with all the kids sports programs, school nights, Joe's flight schedule etc., we never got around to doing it.  Last week I called Heidi and said she and the kids should come on Sunday (no school today) even though Joe was out of town.  We'd watch movies and order Kwan's.

It was a beautiful plan, or so it seemed.

Then I found out that 24  was premiering on Sunday, not Monday. 
Then I found out that Kwan's is closed on Sunday.

This is why I don't entertain. 

It all worked out, however.  Heidi and Tucker were happy to watch and howl at two hours of 24 while the kids watched Fantastic Four upstairs and Jay made a huge pot of chili that everyone enjoyed.  Also, Joe flew into town and joined the party around 9:30.  A look of utter panic crossed his face when we told him Kwan's was closed.  I reassured him it was only on Sunday and he was able to breathe again.

It was really fun and we shouldn't wait another year before we do it again.
