Nippered and Tuckered

Watched three episodes of Nip/Tuck last night.  This show is about the vilest, grossest, most awful people I've ever had so much guilty pleasure watching.  It's a show that's really not fit for human consumption.

When you watch The Sopranos, the show never lets you forget that the characters are monsters.  It sucks you in, makes you sympathize, then wham! you're in the bathroom chopping up a dead guy.  Monsters.

Nip/Tuck doesn't seem to know that the main characters are all hideous people.  Maybe that's the point.  They are plastic surgeons, all concerned with physical beauty, completely unaware of how hellishly ugly they actually are.  But if that's the point, why would the most physically attractive member of the cast also be the shows lone moral beacon?  And he's the character that I dubbed 'the Devil' after the first episode.  His redeeming feature is that he is vaguely aware that his behavior is reprehensible and sometimes he feels bad about it .  He accidentally commits a misguided good deed on occasion as well.

Here's what the last three episodes had to say:

Never waste time inseminating a pro-choice lesbian.

"Life Coach" is Latin for "Mind Fu****."

and finally;

No problem is so big that it can't be solved with a three way.
