I had to run to the grocery store to get bread and juice drinks for the kids lunches tomorrow, so Jay asked me to pick up croutons, a tomato and some of the microwavable mashed potatoes that he and Zack like.

Tomato, no prob.  Croutons, ditto.

Mashed potatoes....hmmm.

I don't eat potatoes so although I had seen the nifty little packages that Zack and Jay pop in the micro, I couldn't remember what brand they were.  I searched the frozen food section, studied all the packages of processed potates and the only ones that looked vaguely similar to what I remembered weren't quite right.  I knew they weren't what the guys had eaten before but they were the only things even in the ball park.

Potayto, potahto, right?

Wrong.

How was I supposed to know that what I had gotten were inedible, nasty, frozen psuedo spuds?  How was I supposed to know that unlike every other packaged potato in the grocery store, the ones J&Z like are not in the freezer section, but in the dairy case with the cheese and the crescent rolls?

I hate it when I buy the wrong thing.  It's not like Jay gets mad or anything, he's always very nice about it.  But he loves to beat dead horses and he'll go on and on about how wrong, how mistaken, how bad those crappy potatoes are....!

On the other hand, while I was at church this morning, Jay not only got dinner ready (slow cooked wings that'll fall right off the bone), he also cleaned the kitchen.

In short, I got a hubby who cooks and cleans and he's got a wife who doesn't cook, clean or apparently know what a potato is.

I love it when I get the good end of a deal!
