I finally saw Apocalypto last night.
WOW.
I Loved it!!
I admit I'm a sucker for action adventure movies but this was one of the best. If you like lots of running, fighting and bloodshed, don't let the fact that it's subtitled deter you. It doesn't really matter what they're saying, anyway, the story tells itself.
I watched it on my giant screen downstairs and I'm really glad I did. This is definitely a big screen, cinematic, technicolor feast for the eyes. Grisly, bloody and horrifying but gorgeous, none the less. Absolutely not for the faint of heart or easily queased.
Mel Gibson may be a goofy drunk with a mean streak, but he's certainly one of his generation's most gifted storytellers.
