I went to my sister's last night to watch the final episode of the Sopranos. I wanted to see Tony die. I wanted to see Carmela die. AJ and Meadow's demise wouldn't have bothered me a bit.
Instead, nothing. NOTHING.
Not only was there very little death, there was very little anything. It was a totally dull hour of tv.
So this morning, I read in various places how "brilliant" it was and how "brave" etc. etc.
No.
It was a total cop out on the order of St.Elsewhere. I rank the Sopranos finale right down there with the Seinfeld finale. I almost added the X-files finale, which gave us no new info, but at least it was a jam packed two hours and stuff blew up, and I enjoyed watching it. The Sopranos ended on the same stale note it had been striking through the first half of the sixth season. You know the note; the one that says; "We've done everything and we're out of ideas. We should have stopped two years ago. Sorry."
