Thank goodness, Katie's back!  Salad is an important part of every diet, not just for guinea pigs.  So go to www.yuckysaladwithbones.com and have a helping.  I was worried that she'd forget all about it; she does tend to have the attention span of a six year old on pixie stix.  I also felt a little bit guilty about her...vacation...as I was the one who pitched her to the...visitors...when they landed in my back yard.

Speaking of guinea pigs, Barbossa, the one eyed furball, seems to have reached détente with Anibelle, the useless cat.  Anibelle spends hours a day sitting beside the cage, sometimes trying to reach inside, while Barbossa gives her the hairy eyeball and bares his tooth at her.   Zack's take on the pig after one day; "That thing is still alive?"

Last night we went to brother Tom's house to celebrate his daughter Lizzie's graduation from high school.  Seems like yesterday that Tom and Jay were sitting in the kitchen of the old homestead, Jay with a round baby boy on his lap, Tom with a red haired baby girl on his, arguing over which kid was cuter.  Both have grown into stunningly attractive adults. (Lizzie and Zack. Tom and Jay were already as "adult" as they were ever going to be.)   Lizzie is two months older than Zack and so graduates a full year earlier.  Hey, they gotta draw the line somewhere, right?

The party was really fun; almost the entire Pivec clan was on board.  Tim couldn't make it, as he had allegedly been struck blind.  S*** happens.  Julie was in town from Arizona, looking as cute as ever.  Stephie and Molly have both gone platinum blond for the summer; good look on them.  But you know, this is Minnesota; going blond is like donning camouflage.  There were four dozen gorgeous blondes at the party.  And three gorgeous brunettes.  One ugly chick, but nobody knew who she was.

We stayed until it started to rain.

Our big tv is having a snit.  I don't know what's wrong with it, but on it's 48" screen, the picture has decided to take up residence in a 12" square in the upper right hand corner.  This is not what you buy a large screen for.  We read the manual and found no clues as to what was wrong.  We pushed every button on all the remotes and none addressed the problem.  We're getting the whole picture and it's chrystal clear, but it's contained in a tiny corner of the screen.  Dvds work fine; they fill the screen right up.  In fact, while testing it, I popped in one of my Michael Buble dvds and wound up staying up too late watching it.

Looks like we'll have to call Best Buy again. In the meanwhile, Jay will be stuck watching sports on the 36" screen on the porch, which we don't air condition.  It's like we're poor or something.  I'll just tell him what my Mom used to tell us whenever we complained; offer it up for the poor souls in purgatory.

I'm pretty sure if you offered up watching sports on a 36" hidef screen on an unairconditioned porch to the poor souls in purgatory you'd be buying yourself a ticket to hell.  Not positive, but pretty sure.

Josie and I are up to The Return of the King.  Maybe we'll watch it tonight; it's not like anyone else is gonna be using the big tv.

Now, it's time to get to work.  I have to finish before noon so I can spend what looks like it's shaping up to be another glorious summer day out having fun in the sun.

I'll offer it all up to the poor souls in purgatory.
