As everyone in the known universe is aware, the seventh Harry Potter book came out on Saturday.  I was busy on Saturday so didn't get a copy til Sunday.

I picked up two, one for each of my daughters.  I had no intention of reading it, as I wanted to reread books 5 and 6, first, so as to refresh my memory.  But we had two copies.  While Josie was reading hers, Katie's was just sitting there on the kitchen table.  Taunting me.

So I picked it up.

I was only going to read a chapter.  Maybe two.

I imagine that's what an alcoholic's lost weekend starts like.

I finished the book last night.  Approximatley thirty hours after I bought it.  I had a ton of work to do, dinners to eat, groceries to buy....but I realized yesterday afternoon that I was going to be pretty much worthless until I finished it, so I shelved everything  else and read til the end.

Best Harry Potter book, ever.

Tolkien would approve.
