Blah, blah, blah...

Well, Zack's senior year is off to a swell start.  One week in and he hasn't failed any classes yet.  He's counting the days til his 18th birthday.  I hope he doesn't have any fun surprises planned for us.

Josie has adjusted to seventh grade without a hitch.  She has become moody, bitchy and terse.  Okay, not really.  For her, moody is just a word that ryhmes with Judy.  Bitchy would be forgetting to say "please" and "thankyou" to everyone she interacts with.  She really has been terse but only because she has laryngitis.

Katie started Law School at the University of Minnesota.  She says all the other law students are either 35 or douchebags.  One guy bragged about leading the anti-war movement in Cleveland.  Katie firebombed his car.

Tyler called last week to tell me that he just found out that one of his roommates from last year happens to be the older brother of Jonathan Taylor Thomas, the child actor who was the voice of Simba (as a cub) from the Lion King.  Weird.  Of course, then Ty got bitten by a brown recluse, so he may not be in his right mind.

Jay has decided that driving is totally bogus, man, and he's riding his bike to work, man, as a protest! against the Man, man.  Or maybe choosing between the SUV and the convertible every morning just got to be too much.

I've been really busy the last...month?  What day is it?

I know that school has started again, cuz it's quiet around here most of the day and no one nags me to take them swimming anymore.  I've taken advantage of the kids being gone to work like an indentured servant all day.  I've gotten two big pieces done in the last two weeks and a slew of smaller things, but nowhere near all of the things the shop needs by next weekend.  At least the few things I have gotten finished don't suck.

I've also been making good on my wedding present to MJ and Kent; I've been helping MJ paint their house.  It's fun, because I like room painting and the colors are gorgeous and the house is going to be a million times prettier when we're finished than it ever has been.  Also, it's really fun making Mary Jeanne clean stuff.

Every single day of the last two weeks has been the same; get up, paint, brush teeth, paint, drive kids to school, paint until my hands ache, wonder why I'm so damned hungry, eat something, pick up kids from school, paint with my aching hands, eat whatever Jay cooks for dinner, tape the paint brush into the claws formerly known as my hands, spill paint all over myself and collapse in front of the tv while I ice my shoulder.  The funnest days are the ones where I run over to MJ's house and paint there, too.

I love having more work to do than I can possibly get done.  "Bite off more than you can chew and you'll never go hungry", I always say.  That, and "Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you".  I say that alot, too.

Life is Great!
