So Far Today

Josie wasn't feeling well this morning. She had an adventure packed weekend, so even though I made her go to bed early last night, I'm not very surprised that she was drooping this morning. Nothing serious, but I kept her home from school. Can't run the risk of her being sick tomorrow, the biggest kid-Holiday of the year!
Since I didn't have to drive her to school, I was at work earlier than usual. I tried to get a purse painted but over designed it and ran out of time. I took what I had finished up to the shop, picked up a check, several pieces of furniture and a stack of orders. I didn't go to Sam's club like I usually do as soon as I get my check. We don't seem to be out of that much. So, I went home for lunch and used this last beautiful, warm autumn afternoon to put a second coat of paint on the two new ceilings downstairs and the ceiling we'd put in the upstairs bedroom a couple of years ago, which I never got around to painting. Painting ceilings is hard work. That took up most of the afternoon. Now I need a shower and then I'll warm up the lasagna we're having for dinner. It's left over from last night and everyone knows lasagna gets better every day.
It feels like summer. All the windows and doors are open and it smells good out side. But here it is, not even six and it's getting dark out. If daylight savings time had ended last weekend like it should have, it would be full dark by now. Dang! Tomorrow Josie's going to want to start her trick-r-treatin' early and it's not going to be dark til 6:30. I doubt if that will put a cramp in her style. It'll just mean we'll be out later. It's going to be fun.
