Supersized Tuesday

It's Fat Tuesday!
Also known as Mardi Gras and not to be confused with "I'm fat Tuesday", which is simply a statement of fact.
To celebrate our last day of post Christmas decadence, before plunging into the season of quit stuffing your fat face and think about Jesus instead, we had sweet and sour chicken for dinner followed by a bag of oreos. I love sweet and sour chicken. It's a labor intensive dinner but so ridiculously delicious that once or twice a year I block out several hours for dinner prep and make it. Emeril's NNO pasta is the only other dish I'm willing to put that much time into. It's a good thing those meals are so much work; if they were easy, we'd eat them too often and be even fatter than we are now.
By "we" I mean "me", of course.
The oreos were because we ( I mean "we") give up chocolate for lent. Last year Josie and I gave up chocolate and all cookies because chocolate had gotten too easy. I was dismayed to wake up this morning to see that we didn't finish the bag. There are still four cookies left that I must force feed to Zack when he gets home from school.
Last night my next door neighbor slipped on some ice and cracked her skull! She's being well cared for and Grandparents are taking care of the kids, but be careful out there!
Super Tuesday....voting and caucusing for candidates. I have a sick feeling that the party machines are going to force the candidates no one wants down our throats. It's shaping up to be ugly, ugly, ugly.
