In my ongoing quest to be a good parent and make sure that my kids are well versed in the classics, I put Independence Day on my netflix list and made Josie watch it with me this week.  Josie doesn't really like movies.  It's not easy to get her to sit and watch something she hasn't seen.  She'd rather watch the same Simpson's episode for the forth time than risk wasting any of her life watching a movie that might be dull.  I promised her it wouldn't be dull.  Unrealistic and silly, sure but never dull.  And it has Will Smith!  Who doesn't love Will Smith?  By the time the UFO popped open it's hull and Will punched the alien in the face, she was hooked.  Fun movie.  I don't know why I don't own it.  Netflix has gone a long way towards weaning me off my habit of buying every movie I like.
