Pundits all over the old and new media, from the far left to the far right are speculating on the meteoric rise of Senator Obama. The left paint him as a fresh new beacon of "hope" and the right as a messianic speaker with nothing to say.
Is it possible that Democrats are turning out in record numbers to nominate him for president because they are as adamant as Republicans are that the Clinton's not return to the White House? In that case, it really doesn't matter what Obama's record is, what his experience is (isn't) or that his speeches say nothing, as long as they say it beautifully.
I know a lot of liberal Democrats. They are good people who didn't like having to say "character doesn't matter" because in their own lives, character matters a great deal. They don't want to go back to having to defend the constant lying, the shady dealings, the stench of criminality, the sexual depravity, the scandals and daily angst of life with Mr. Bill. And with Hillary, whom most of them don't even like, there's the very real fear of being in the position of having to defend totalitarianism.
They know they have to prevent her from getting the nomination, becuase if she does, they know she'll cheat to win the Presidency. She's already trying to cheat Obama out of the nomination. Her people are
of course, trying to get the delegates seated of the states who broke the rules of the DNC in the primary system.
To put it in sports terms, she's trying to get cancelled games counted as wins.
Perhaps they just know, deep down, that she can't cheat if it isn't close. So record numbers are showing up to support the Other Guy. It doesn't hurt that the Other Guy is good looking and articulate, ie. not Ted Kennedy.
The Clinton's are like the villain in a horror movie; you can't just kill them. You have to shoot, stab, burn and disembowel them. Then, to be on the safe side, decapitate the corpse and bury the pieces on different continents.
Of course, just because that worked on Dracula doesn't mean it will work on these two ghouls.
