Conventional Wisdom?

"Conventional Wisdom" isn't an oxymoron, but it is certainly a misnomer.  So often, the CW of today is disproved tomorrow, next week or next year, that you can't escape concluding that the conventionally wise don't know squat.  So, when I read the words "conventional wisdom", I think "current foolishness."

Two examples; John McCain's presidential aspirations were dead last fall.  Dead.
Hillary Clinton's nomination and election were inevitable, as in "Lay back and enjoy it."

Nobody knows anything, so stop letting them scare you.
