The Painted Garden

Yesterday, when I was done clinging to my religion, Jay and I dropped our minivan at his brother's garage, where it will no doubt be fixed for a very reasonable, family style price. Then Jay dropped me at my folk's house, where I met my mom and my sister and we headed out to the arboretum to see an art show mounted by a good friend of ours.
You can see some of the works at
www.rkochenash.com, but it's way better to go out to the arboretum, if you can, and see the paintings for yourself.
His paintings in this show are so good that I was inspired to go home and throw out all my paint. Is it the same way for singers? When you hear someone really good, do you vow to never open your mouth again?
Mom and Katie and I discussed the possibility of grabbing a piece and bolting. We figured we could get away with it, I mean there was a door
right there! Then Katie remembered it wouldn't do any good. The artist knows where we live. He wouldn't even chase us, he'd just call later and ask us to bring it back.
I've always hated him but never as intensely as I did yesterday. He just laughed when I told him that. Then he told me I had to get out and paint more.
Sure, like it's
my fault I'm not as good as he is.
Okay, I'll go out and paint.
Maybe tomorrow.
If there's nothing good on tv.
