Monday morning, we went to the movies.  The older kids saw Hellboy II, the younger kids saw Hancock and Margy, Katie, Molly and I saw Mama Mia!

I haven't had as much fun at a movie since I saw Chicago.  At that one, I wanted to leap to my feet and cheer after every number.  At Mama Mia! I wished there was a dance floor in the theater.

The Dancing Queen number made me so happy, I cried.  I've never seen anything more wonderful than a sixty year old Meryl Streep, singing and dancing on a dock, surrounded by a ridiculously blue Aegean Sea, a huge chorus of women of all sizes, ages and shapes, culminating in the star cannonballing into the water.

Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.  Need I say more?

Pierce can't sing.  But the man throws himself into each number as if his life depended on it and you can't help but love him all the more for his bravery.  I want him to follow me around a Greek island, badly singing love songs!

If you love fun, beauty, love and joy, go see Mama Mia!

And don't leave when the credits roll or you'll miss the best part.
