We had another party last night.  Tyler arrived back in town from Austin Texas on Sunday evening.  He brought his friend, Tiffany, with him.  They got here just before dinner on Sunday and afterward, Jay popped them into the convertible and took them around the lakes.  It was a gorgeous, golden evening.  Half way around Calhoun, Tif turned to Ty and said "We have to stay another week."  Five days won't be nearly enough time.

Not only is Minneapolis ridiculously beautiful in summer, but the weather has been perfect.  When Ty and Tif left Austin, it was 103degrees.  A seventy five degree sunset was just what the doctor ordered.

Yesterday, they took bikes and rode around Harriet with a stop at the Rose Gardens.  In the afternoon they took Josie and went to the Mall of America.  Tif wanted to see it.  It's not really the sort of thing we natives are interested in.  Josie just wanted to go on rides so she and Tif had  a great time.

While they were gone, I was busy making bars.  As usual when we have a party, we served brats and bars.  I made four pans of brownies, coconut bars, peanut butter rice crispy bars and fudge crispies.  We also had a ton of Johnsonville brats and my Mom brought home made potato salad and Katie brought a huge salad.  We ate all the food but everyone was satisfied.

There was basketball going on in the driveway even though our hoop fell down last year.  There was football, baseball and croquet going on in the back yard.  The yard is mostly taken up with the deck, so there's not that much grassy space left.  Yet the kids managed to play all the games at the same time.  On the deck and in the house there was eating, drinking and dancing.  The dancing spread out into the yard when it got too dark for baseball, football and croquet.

It was another fun time and I'm exhausted.

Now, since the bars are all gone, I have to make ranger cookies.
