Beautiful Men, Falling Down

Stayed up waaaay too late last night watching the men's all around gymnastics competition.  It was fun and I like to watch it just like the rest of the country but why...oh, it was live, that's why.

Josie, Tiffany, Tyler and I played scrabble while we watched.  Tif won the first game and I came back and won the second game even though Katie came home from work and tried to help me but I couldn't see what she saw.  It was okay, I found a place for the word on my next turn and came from behind to win with a "zen/yon" combination.  The Z was on a double letter score.

The scrabble was much better played than the gymnastics.  I saw so many guys fall off of their apparatus that it reminded me of the figure skating competition years ago when the Olympics were in France.  I remember that so many skaters fell down that the guy who didn't fall down won.  On the other hand, the gymnasts were all better looking than the skaters were.

Slept past nine this morning.  I'm never going to recover from this summer.

Jay and Ty went golfing with Grampa at MGC this morning and Josie, Tif and I went to the Falls.  I tried to talk Katie into coming with us but she said she wanted to go for a run.  So she stayed home, but of course she didn't run.  It was lovely at the falls, of course.  There were a few clouds so it wasn't crowded.  The last time we were there, a month ago, it had rained all morning so it was humid and very muddy.  Today it was neither, just sunny, pretty and nice.  We walked down the to Mississippi but didn't see any of the eagles today.  We had ice cream at Sea Salt when we were finished and then came home.

I made a big bowl of guacamole and the guys returned from golf and we all ate guac and chips.  Then I got a little work done; I painted two footstools with an undercoat and did a couple of Christmas ornaments.  Then I whipped up a batch of peanut butter crispies since we ate all the ranger cookies last night while playing scrabble.

I'm tired and my hands ache.

I hope the girls don't fall off the uneven bars tonight.
