The Week in Review...

Stuff I did this last week;
Went to a piano bar. Dueling pianos, actually. Katie's friends threw her a party at the Shout House and MJ and I crashed. It was a fine affair. The place was packed with Katie's cousins, old friends and new friends. She introduced me to many of them. If I weren't deaf, I'd know a few of their names. Katie and a slew of her high school buddies and cousins danced on stage to "Baby's got Back." IT's the official theme song of the Pivec ladies. The girls were awesome.
Had a small birthday party here. Just us, with Gramma and Grampa. We had lasagna and chocolate cherry cake. Neither of the boys were here. Ty's in Texas and Zack had something else to do. We're not sure what...
Went to church twice.
Watched a bunch of movies.
Rush Hour 3. I wasn't going to bother, but Zack thought I'd like it and it was only 90 minutes. I laughed.
Gone Baby, Gone. Very good. Ben Afleck is better behind the camera than in front of it and his brother Casey is much better than Ben. The story was good, although there were a few predictable scenes. Moral dilemmas. That's always fun. Good performances. Casey A. Was very good and he's a lot prettier than his brother, but I must say, men with tiny little noses almost never age well. Think of Brad Pitt and David Duchovney at 14. Now think of them both at 45. See what I mean?
Watched about two seasons of Friends with Josie. She's just discovered the show. I haven't watched it in years and I'd forgotten how funny it was.
Went to Target at least three times.
Went to dinner at a friend's house. Had another friend over here.
Ran once. Strained my achilles tendon, again.
Did a half hour of pilates. Walked like a cripple for three days. Felt like a used wishbone for five days.
Killed a mouse in my kitchen in the middle of the afternoon. Stupid mouse. Stupider cat. Why do I even have a cat? How do the mice know she won't bother them?
Finished reading Sophie's World. It started out dull and then became stupid. I mean really stupid.
Then I read Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie and some guy. It was good, but not quite as funny as some of her others.
Made a batch of the worst devil cookies I've made in twenty years. I'm convinced it's the brown sugar. Devil cookies aren't worth the trouble unless you have C&H. I guess I'll have to break down and buy some before Christmas cookie season opens. Sam's club and Costco don't carry it here anymore. Drag. I am all about the cheap food.
Got invited to a baby shower. Got disinvited to the same shower the same day the invitation arrived. That's not as bad as it sounds; the shower was actually postponed due to everyone was busy. It's going to be after the holidays instead, when the baby will be able to attend.
It was a good week.
