His Brother's Keeper?

Barack Obama keeps saying in speeches that he's his brother's keeper.
What's he talking about?
We've recently discovered that Barack's actual half brother lives on twelve bucks a year in a hut in Africa. I guess Barack didn't know about the guy, but he does now. Has he "kept" him? Has he lifted a finger to elevate the poor guy's life style? Has he spread the wealth from his two best selling books around? For a measly fifty bucks he could quadruple his brother's annual income. Has he done it?
Then there's his aunt, the illegal fugitive living in a slum in Boston. Barack knew about her; he mentioned her in one of those best selling autobiographies. There she is. Still living in that slum. Sending all the money she could be spending on food to her big-shot nephew's political campaign. Maybe she thinks he'll throw her a bone once he's president. After all, he says he want to spread the wealth. Just not that book wealth, apparently.
Then there's John McCain, of whom much fun was made earlier in the campaign because he didn't know how many houses he owned.
Turns out John doesn't actually own any houses, but his very rich wife, Cindy, owns eight of them. She bought so many recently that John stopped paying attention.
Why on earth does Cindy McCain need eight houses?
In addition to the Arizona home where they raised their kids, she bought John a place in Arlington, VA to live in while he's in Washington. Then, the McCain's bought a home for Cindy's elderly aunt who lives in La Jolla, California. There she is. Living large in La Jolla.
Cindy also bought a house in Arizona for their adult daughter, Meghan. When their adopted daughter, Bridget, grows up, they'll probably buy her a place too. It could be Cindy's way of making sure her daughters stay close by. As a mom, I totally get that.
Finally, they own a couple of investment properties and a beach condo in Coronado. John doesn't care for the beach so he doesn't spend much time there. He was unaware of the fact that while he was mavericking it up on the east coast, his large family was spending so much time at the beach that Cindy went and bought another condo. As a member of a large extended family, I totally get that, too.
Because of all these properties, Cindy went and hired additional household staff. I couldn't find out exactly how many people they employ but I did find out that the McCain's annual budget for such staff is $273,000. Now that's how you spread the wealth around!
So...one candidate's aunt lives in a slum in Boston and the other candidate's aunt lives in a home in La Jolla, which is not a slum.
One candidate pays his household staff over a quarter of a million dollars a year and the other won't send his brother a fifty.
Last weekend, Barack had the temerity to ask when selfishness became a virtue.
Well, B.O., maybe it was the instant you made selflessness a vice.
Maybe your aunt could get a job on Cindy McCain's staff.
