"The furnace is broken.  Have you been having trouble with it?"

I was sound asleep, and that's how he woke me up.

"Hnggh?" I quipped.  "Wuyzzung?"

"The furnace is broken.  It's freezing in here.  Has it been acting up?"

Acting up?  The freezer?  How in hell would a freezer act up, exactly?  I was concentrating all my efforts on lifting my ten ton eyelids and he just kept on talking at me.  Usually he knows better.

Wait, no.  The furnace?

Oh.

Bleep.

It was 62 and falling in the house this morning.  Isn't that a lovely way to wake up on a Monday?  This is why we pay the extra 33 bones every month to the gas company: Service Plus.  The repairman was hear and replaced the igniter by 9:30 and we were back in the 21st century by the time I drove Josie to school.

God Bless America and everyone in it!

We had had a lovely weekend.  Jay's team is off to a grand start of another season. You can read all about it at www.minneapolisbasketball.com.  Cortez had three monster dunks that were so huge they rattled my teeth and I was only watching the replay on dvd.

I went to an estate sale with my Mom and MJ. I was looking for a new bed for Josie.  Didn't find a bed, but I did buy a wooden chair and a pine bookcase.  Spent a whopping $22.00.  Mom bought a new dining room table with six chairs.  She and Dad had decided to replace the one they've used for a thousand years.  It was one of those tables that was enormous, yet because of the leg configuration, you couldn't fit that many people around it.  The new one folds up much smaller but extends almost as long as the old one and was eight inches narrower.  Also, the chairs are narrow, so you can fit more around the table.  Mom's got about fifteen dining room chairs now.  She needs them all more often than you'd think.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we'll be fighting for chairs.

Jay's brother Steve and his wife Pam have been hosting Thanksgiving since Mom sold the big house.  We got an email from them this week bailing on everyone.  Just because they became grandparents last week.

Of twins.

That's right.  The Pivec's are coming in pairs, now.

  Congratulations, Matt and Janelle!

I got a lot of work done today.  Four ornaments, a tray and I finished the tuffet base.  All in all, a good week.
