Let it Snow Some More!

It's gonna snow anyway, so I may as well love it. I do. It's so pretty. Yes, it's a pain in the neck to drive through but aside from that, there's no downside. Except for the huge ice dams building up on my tv room roof. I've already awakened Zack and told him to get to work shoveling off the roof. That used to be my job but my wrecked shoulders mean I can't do it anymore. Poor me. Let's do some more T-stands!
This was an eventful week, as they all are once the basketball season starts. Josie didn't have any games but she had two practices and they couldn't be scheduled at a more inconvenient time. The drive consists of three hours back and forth across town during rush hour traffic and usually a blizzard. Minnesota Winter Fun!
Josie and I watched Kung Fu Panda. It was surprisingly funny. We both laughed hard all the way through it. On Wednesday, Josie, Katie, Muzz, Annie and I went out to Mom's to watch Mama Mia! We watched it with the sing along option on and believe me, we all sang. Heck, none of us were any worse than Pierce. I love that movie more every time I see it. Annie gets seriously cuter every day! So do I, but I don't like to brag.
Mary Jeanne had been to a screening of Marley and Me, as part of her prize for the essay she wrote about her own horrible dog. She said the movie was just as bad as it looked, and it didn't help any that the patrons had been encouraged to bring their own dogs to the premier. Not Muzz, however. When her essay won, the folks in charge said "If your dog is as bad as you describe, we just as soon you didn't bring her to the show." No problem. If MJ had taken her mutt to the movies, it would've been with the express purpose of losing her there.
No! Mary Jeanne would never do that; too big a chance the dog would find her way back home.
I'm busy baking Christmas cookies like my life depends on it. My life does depend on it. We're having the Pivecs over on Christmas eve and if they don't all get their favorite cookies, they WILL kill me. There's a chance that no fewer than three new babies will be at the party. Matt and Janelle are afraid to bring the twins to such a large gathering, and who can blame them? But I can hope. Frank and Brandy may bring Koby, born December 5. I hope so! There haven't been enough little kids at our family gatherings in the last few years. Jenna's daughter, Sofie has had to fill that role all by herself. She's done it like a champion but everyone can use some help now and then.
Jay's team crushed all comers again this weekend. Despite more snow, I made both games. After yesterday's game, Josie and I came home and watched Ratatouie, which I enjoyed a lot more than Josie did. She just can't get past the Rats in the Kitchen angle. What can I say? My daughter is a Verminist.
I found my copy of Holiday Inn last night. I need to watch that and White Christmas this week.
I still have four kinds of cookies to make, as well as fudge. I also have to get all the stuff I need for the huge pot of gumbo I'm making for Christmas eve. My shopping is pretty much done, as well as the wrapping. Tyler got the box full of presents yesterday. I'm sending stuff off to my brother who turns 50 (!!!!!!) next week. Yeah, he's a week shy of 50 and he still gets carded. I hate him. I wish he could come home for Christmas, but he can't cause he finally broke down and got a job. For a million years, he was our hero; the artist who lived on the edge with no responsibilities and not a care in the world. Then one day he yelled "I'm sick of being broke!" and sold out. That's how idols fall in today's world.
I finished the second calligraphy job this week and my office is packed with furniture I'm supposed to decorate and design for. That's a good thing. After the new year, I'm springing a line of children's rockers with needlepoint seats. Each one is very different from the rest and each one is spectacular on it's own. Hmmm....maybe I do like to brag.
I finished the Great Purple Hairstreak Christmas ornament I was working as a sample for the shop. For the record; that's a butterfly. I designed a whole line of them. They're gorgeous but I can't take any credit; I just copied God. I'm working a cabbage butterfly for myself now. I may do a whole lot of them for my own tree, they're so pretty!
And you know what? So am I.
