Our Lady of Guadalupe

As much as I love stories of the Great Depression and as much fun as reliving it sounds, I really think I'd rather not. So why not ask for all the help we can get in these troubled times?
I'm going to say this prayer every day for as long as it takes;
"Oh Loving Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, we entrust you with the care of our beloved country, we honor you and thank you for the care and protection which you have given this great nation.
"Oh powerful Queen of Heaven, whose watchful presence encompasses this vast continent, obtain for us the graces we need to overcome the forces of evil rampant in our land. Help us, our God given protector, to bring peace and goodness to our nation. We want to make you known and loved throughout our land so that with your help, we may become once more "A nation under God".
I believe absolutely in the power of prayer. After all, it's appealing to a force stronger than water, stronger than time, stronger than the atom. This is the force which brought the universe itself into being. The force which created everthing out of nothing and time out of timelessness. I'm not such a child as to believe that if I don't get the answers I want from my prayers, it must mean no one is listening. Sometimes the answer to our prayers is "Live through this". The beauty is that prayer gives us the strength to face our problems and deal with them. Prayer is like a blanket in the cold; it makes you warmer, even if the cold doesn't go away.
