Josie's team played in the first round of their playoffs last night.  The team as a whole played the best they've played all year.  Josie has been out sick all week with a low grade fever.  She didn't start, as she had been all season, but she did get in and contribute. She had three points, including one from the line.  She got a few rebounds but she tired out very quickly.  It was the strangest game, score-wise that I can recall.  We scored the first seven points.  Then the other team scored the next 13.  Then we went on a 14 point rampage.  We held them scoreless for six and a half minutes in the third quarter and were up by 17 points, only to let them score six points in the last thirty seconds.  I was happy to see our girls finally play smart in the last quarter.  They slowed the ball down, passed it around and generally ground off the clock, since they had an eleven point lead.  Unfortunately, one of our team members didn't get what was going on and three plays in a row, got her hands on the ball, drove for the basket, lost the ball and the opposition scored on a fast break.  What should've been a walk away victory finished as a five point win.  But hey, a win's a win.

P.S.  The Minneapolis Community and Technical College Mavericks are still ranked first in the national polls.  Their last regular season game is on Saturday.
