Watching president Obama's news conference about the SEALS dispatching of the Somali pirates and the rescue of Capt Phillips, I was dismayed to hear him say that he wanted to end 'privacy'.

Please tell me that was just a misunderestimation.

He meant 'piracy', didn't he?

Obama's grand oratory has never caused a thrill to go up my leg, but I'll admit to feeling a chill go down my spine at hearing an American president forecast the end of privacy.
