I've been out of town, visiting old friends.  We (Jay and I) were in Coronado, CA with a couple of kids we met when Jay was coaching at Jamestown College and they were student athletes.  We had a blast.

While we were gone, my brother JP got married in Vegas.  So now I have a new sister in law, Royana, who's great.  I listened to the ceremony via Margy's cell phone.

Then we came back to town to rather shocking news.

If you were the president of a tiny community college who's only claim to real fame was a program that over the course of two decades had been phenomenally successful at giving under-served, inner city kids a second shot at a chance at life...had in fact, managed to not only graduate dozens and dozens of such kids but garnered them something like 2.7 million dollars worth of scholarships so that they could go on to four year schools, wouldn't you be proud of such a program?  Wouldn't you in fact, try to capitalize on such a success for the advancement of your school in any way you could think of?  Wouldn't you do whatever was in your power to see that such success on your campus continued and spread?

Of course you would!

I wish you were the president of Minneapolis Community and Technical College.
