Last night, Jay and I watched the Transporter 3.

"Isn't this a movie about robots?" he asked.  He wasn't going to be interested if it was about robots.

"No, you're thinking of Transformers.  This is the Transporter."

"So what is it?"

"It's a guy with a sweet car who beats people up and gets in car chases."

"I'm in."

He loved it.  We actually have the first two Transformer movies but Jay hadn't seen them.  If he had he wouldn't have wanted to watch this one because they're all the same.

Hot guy (Jason Statham.  He looks like if Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson had a baby) drives a super sweet Audi and for some reason likes to get undressed while he beats up crowds of bad guys.  It's the greatest chick flick ever.  In the first one he fights half nekkid in a garage with a bunch of guys and they wind up rolling around in motor oil.  That scene made Top Gun look like a hand book on straight relationships.  I replayed it three times.

So we watched the movie and hooted and hollered all the way through it.  Every time he did some super stunt with his car Jay just said "It's an Audi."  like that explained driving it off a bridge into a lake, getting towed out of the lake and then hopping in it and driving off to catch a train, which he catches by flying off an over passing and parking his car on top of the train as it roars down the track.  Can you do that?  Of course; it's an Audi.  I can't believe they don't use movie clips in their ads.  Probably a liability issue.  You never know how many rich guys in Armani suits will try to drive between speeding semis on two wheels, thinking it's actually possible.

I also have Dr. Horribles Sing Along Blog, but I knew Jay wouldn't get it.  I laughed hard all the way through it.  Now I want a t-shirt with Capt. Hammer's logo on it.

I learned a valuable lesson this morning.  Never try to run on one cup of coffee.  It was a gorgeous morning and I took off feeling great.  I ran out of steam so fast it was humiliating.  I only did half the circuit I set out to do.  then I had to come home and rest for an hour, while I pounded coffee and ice water till I felt normal again.

Later in the day I went for a bike ride.  That was unplanned, too.  I meant to drive Josie over to school for captain's practice but it turns out Jay stole the car keys and went to Delano.  So Josie had to ride her bike and I went with her for fun and to make sure she knew where she was going.

My bike was trashed.

Zack's been riding it a lot this summer and he's way too big for it.  He likes it because it fits on the bus rack better.  I think it's great that the buses have racks for bike commuters but you'd think they'd have a size that can accommodate a full grown man, wouldn't you?  Anyway, the gears were messed up, the chain kept slipping., the brakes were shot and the grips on the handle bars were melted.  Yuk.  So the ride wasn't as fun as it could have been.  Jay felt so bad about stealing the car keys that he ran my bike right up to the shop to get it fixed.

It's supposed to be really hot tomorrow.  I hope it is.  This week has been beautiful and more summery than any weather we've had yet.  Right down to the tornado warning Friday night.  We ignored it, of course.  We were in the middle of a game of scrabble.  Zack won.  Josie trounced me at cribbage twice.  I haven't been on a winning streak.
