The Dawn of a New Age

It's a perfect September morning; cool, crisp and blue.  With few exceptions the trees have not started to turn, although if you look closely enough you can see that it's coming.

An hour ago I dropped Josie off a block from the link, the same place I used to drop Zack.  It gives the kids the chance to walk up to the school as though they didn't just get a ride from mom and it allows me to avoid the congestion up close to the school.  I let her out, turned the corner and drove down the street a ways. Then I pulled over and watched her in my rear view mirror.

She walked the last block alone, waved at a few kids she apparently knows and finally disappeared inside the building.

She never looked back.
