Over the Weekend

It was an unusually full weekend.  Zack is in Texas, visiting Ty.  When he heard that it snowed up here, he said he was never coming back.

His dad asked where we should send his stuff.

I'm pretty sure Zack will be back; he hasn't finished watching Spaced yet.

Josie went straight to Meg's after practice on Friday and had a tournament on Saturday.  After she got home from the game she went out to Carolyn's to spend the night.  One of the seniors on the varsity knows Carolyn and asked Josie "Why doesn't your sister go to Southwest?"

"Um...because she's twenty four." Josie answered, unaware that her cousin had been mistaken for her sister.

After she was dropped off here on Sunday morning, Josie was picked up by another group and they went to see the University of Minnesota's women's volleyball team play.  Then she hung out at her friend Emma's house til bedtime.

I walked around the lake with MJ and Annie on Saturday.  It was cold and windy but we dressed for it and I was really glad to get out and stretch my legs.  I've been painting the inside of the new front door.  It looks great.  I've also been getting a lot of orders done, which is good.  I have to pay for the massive amount of work Tim did on my money sucking mini van.  I also have another possible mural in my future.

Jay had his alumni scrimmage on Saturday morning.  Sunday we did brunch at Joe's Garage and then visited a little place in the alley that is like a perpetual garage sale.  We bought a cribbage board/card box and a wine bottle stopper.  I'm glad we stopped in, as the city is shutting the place down in a week.  It says they aren't a legal business.  Don't you just love how government encourages entrepreneurialism?  Bleep government.   They close schools that work and businesses just because they can.  I hate those bastards.

The Twins lost in three to the NY Yankees but the games were good.  Our boys didn't play dead for the Yankees.  The Vikings are tempting me to watch them again but I mustn't give in.  I've been down that road and it doesn't end well.

At the moment it's raining big juicy snow flakes all over the trees, which haven't really turned, much less lost their leaves.  Snow in mid October isn't unheard of here in the Great White North, but we usually get some Autumn colors first.  This year, the trees started turning in early September but the several weeks of rain we just got stopped the colors in their tracks.  Peak is usually the first week of October.  We're in the second week now and the trees are no where near peak color.  If it keeps snowing they'll never turn, they'll just give up and drop them all as is.  That would suck.

I'm having a hard time get motivated this morning.  I've been sitting here drinking coffee for three hours.

That's probably enough.
