Josie's last game was against their tradition arch rivals on Tuesday.  It was a slug fest but our team prevailed to finish the season undefeated.

Then came the tournament.

As usual, anything can happen at tourney time.  We breezed through the first two rounds of play and faced our rivals again in the third round.  I don't care what game you're playing, it's always tough to beat a team three times in a single season and it proved impossible for our girls.  We won the first round comfortably but got sloppy and lost the second game.  The wheels came off completely during the tie breaker.  I haven't seen our girls play so badly since very early in the season.  Two of our most reliable players were just smacking the ball all over the gym.

As so often happens in the tournament, the first cede went down in flames before ever making it to the championship.

Josie has rolled her ankle earlier in the week so she didn't play on Tuesday.  She was flawless at the net on Wednesday but it wasn't enough.

"But we're better than South!" she sighed after it was over.

Not today, sweetie.

Not today.
