Great News!

I spent the morning yesterday painting a Christmas stocking that completely puzzles me. It was the third in a series for this woman and the design isn't ugly, it's just pointless.
She had exact copies of plaids done in needle point. Think about it; she had custom stockings painted, which had to have cost her hundreds of dollars each and look exactly like she went to the fabric shop and bought a couple bucks worth of tartan. She could have done that, had the names embroidered and saved herself about seven hundred dollars.
And the stupid thing took forever, because working out a plaid is not for beginners, let me tell ya.
I was more than happy to lay down my brush when MJ called and said she was taking her babies to the park and was I up for a walk?
So Mom, Katie, Muzz and I walked down the park way from MJ's house to the park near the lake. It was sunny and warm but there was a wind which kept it from feeling as nice as it should have been. The park way was beautiful, even though nothing is blooming yet. Despite all the snow we had, the creek is low. It'll be a mud streak by June if we don't' get a month or more of good rain this spring. We had five feet of snow a month ago but it was all very light and fluffy; not much water content. The hockey rink across the street didn't even leave a muddy swamp in it's wake. The field is pretty dry.
Later on, back at home, I got a call from Ty; he and Megan just closed on their house! They are now the proud owners of a four bedroom ranch style home on 5 acres of perfect horse country just outside of Austin Texas!
Sometime later in the spring, I'll have to go on down to help them paint the walls.
What? Of course I'll let them choose their own colors.
As long as they choose the right colors.
Okay, there's no such thing as 'wrong' colors. Just wrong color combinations.
