So, it's the second day of summer and we can feel it.
Yesterday, MJ and I walked around the lake.  It was hot, sunny windy and extremely humid.  It felt great but a big part of it was knowing I'd come back to my air conditioned house.  It was in the high 80s.

We had dinner at Mom's; Frankie's Pizza!  Yummmmmm.

It was Mike and Lester's last night in town.  It's always fun when they come to visit.  We played a lot of games and they are very formidable opponents.

After we got home last night, Josie and I watched Meet the Parents.  She had slept over at a friend's the night before and as girls will do when they're all together and feeling brave; they watched a scary movie.  Josie needed some Ben Stiller to counter balance The Silence of the Lambs.

It didn't work.

She insisted on sleeping downstairs in the room ajacent to ours.

I'm sitting out on the hot, sticky porch, writing this.  It's thick, overcast and might even be raining.  It's not terribly hot yet but it will be and there's no reason to think that this humidity will break.  This is what Texas felt like.

I have to get a lot of work done in the next three days because next weekend will be completly taken up with parties; we have a family wedding on Saturday (which also happens to be Jay's and my 29th anniversary.  29!  Seems impossible since we're not that old.) and I have a bridal shower on Sunday.  I'm really looking forward to it, since I haven't met any of Megan's family yet.

It's almost 11 in the morning and here I sit.  I know I should get on up to my office but I didn't sleep well and I'm waiting for my coffee to kick in.  If it hasn't kicked in by lunch time, it probably isn't going to.  Oh well.

It's too hot out here.

I'm going in.
