It's Wednesday morning and I can't really remember the last three days.  It's a blur of warm weather, blue skies, the occasional shower and lots of fun.

Lots of fun.

Margy told me that her kids were all very impressed with what an excellent dancer Jay is.  The key to good dancing is to not care what you look like, of course.

Sunday we had a huge party for all the July birthdays, which include Dad, Meg, Josie, Alex, Hattie, Annie and Vince.  If I missed anyone, I'm sorry.

On the Pivec side it's Carolyn, Jenna, Lizzie, Lauren and Josie.  I know I missed a few because there's a handful of cousins down in AZ celebrating birthdays, too.

July is birthday month, no two ways about it.

For our big party, we had a chocolate cherry cake, a burnt almond cake, a chocolate carrot cake and a third of the giant sheet cake left from Alex's graduation party.  For the life of me, I can't remember what we had for dinner.

The cake was all excellent.

I think it was Monday when some of the adults went back to the arboretum for a few hours.  We parked in a lot out on the three mile drive, near the maze.  From there, we found a few gardens we had never visited before.  It really pays to get off the beaten path in the arboretum.  What a fun place.

Tuesday I had a lot of work to do so I did that while Margy and Jeff took some of their kids canoeing again and those who didn't want to canoe apparently went bowling.

We all met over at Mom and Dad's for the last dinner of Hubbellpalooza 2010.  It was marinated sirloin on the grill with cheesy noodles. I made a big bowl of guacamole which we hoovered up while the steaks cooked.  There was left over cake for dessert.

Josie rolled an ankle at open gym so she was hobbling and icing.

Alex, Heidi and Hootie came later, having just come back to town from Chicago, where Alex had orientation.

We sat on the deck talking until the mosquitoes tried to eat us.

I told Margy I was taking home season 2 of Veronica Mars and she screamed "NO!!!"  Turns out she's got her whole family hooked and they're only on disc 4.  She promised to send it back to me when they're done and Margy actually will.  So, I let her take it.

I'm not real happy about it, though.

Except I want them to watch it, so I am happy.

I was supposed to walk around the lake right now with my cousin but it's pouring rain and thundering.

I hope it clears up by this afternoon; I've got a lot of cake to walk off.
