The Week In Review

This week was a good one.  Zack was stuck at home, hobbling around on his soreness and requesting food like Mac n cheese.  I made him whatever he wanted while Jay and I ate strip steaks.  Josie had volleyball most of the week.  She said she played well and the ankle she rolled is not causing her any problems.  Her dad bought her some extremely expensive ankle braces so she shouldn't do that again.

It was really hot and humid most of the week but I went for walks with MJ, Katie M and Katie P anyway.  So, we were dripping balls of sweat by the time we finished, it was still a good thing to do.  On Thursday, I went for a nice long bike ride.  It wasn't all that hot but it was overcast and really sticky.  About a half hour after I got back home, it started to rain.  We've had a lot of rain this week, too but mostly at night.  Every day has had at least a few hours of sunshine and the creek is running higher than it has in two years.  I'd call that a near perfect weather summer.

Yesterday, Bananas and Punkin spent a couple of hours here with us.  Bananas wanted to play dominoes and watch Jay mow the lawn.  Punkin wanted to laugh at the ceiling fans and sleep on the floor.

I've been trying to get back into the swing of working.  I've gotten some things done but after an hour up there, I just can't stand it anymore.  It's getting better every day, though.

I can't believe it's the middle of August already.  This summer has flown by faster than any summer in my life.  I've had some huge event looming on my horizon since April.  First it was Vegas and the Hall of Fame, then Katie's graduation, her party, Margy came to town, two weeks worth of partying, the family tournament, Alex graduation, and of course, the biggest deal of all; TYLER'S WEDDING.

For someone who's idea of the perfect evening is watching something on dvd all by myself, it's been grueling but really fun.

Of course, the wedding was the most fun of all.  I knew it would be a blast but it actually turned out to be about three times more fun than I had imagined it would be.

Ty and Megan are a great couple and I know that they both know how great marriages work.  I have been extremely proud of my firstborn since the day I met him but of all his accomplishments, and he has many , I think time will prove that the best thing he ever
did was get Megan to marry him.
