Daybreakers

Last night I watched a movie I've never heard of before. Zack put it on our list.
Daybreakers is about a future in which the politically elite ruling class, living off the very lifeblood of the people, realize that they have grown so large and powerful that there aren't actually enough people left to supply them with what they need to survive. In a panic, the politically elite try to artificially create the wealth needed to survive but their attempts only make matters worse. As the politically elite rulers of this nightmarish world realize there is no one left to provide for them, world wide famine sets in, with all the accompanying panic and violence one would expect. A tiny handful of people in whose hearts liberty is still beating, realize they can infect the politcally elite and turn them back into red blooded Americans. The movie ends with a blood bath in which the politcally elite cannabalize their own.
Wow.
Wait.
Re-read that paragraph and subsitute 'politically elite' with 'vampire'.
NOW you've got a movie.
As a vampire movie, Daybreakers was okay but as political commentary on the current administrations policies it was brilliant.
