Last night, MJ, Katie, Fran and I hopped in Katie's car and drove all the way out to Medina for a girl's only cocktail party at the home of the Fabulous Liz.

Liz's hubby was off to the cabin for the weekend so it was time for wine, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.  Despite knowing that it was chick's only, we all got dolled up.  I wore the zebra striped dress I bought for Vegas last spring.  When am I ever gonna get to wear that again?  Fran wore a semi clean t-shirt and cargo pants.  The suburban mom's talked about Fran's unerring sense of style for a half hour.

Kathy joined us, too which was great.  Kath works so much we hardly ever get to see her.

It was a gorgeous, warm night and we spent a good deal of the time out on the patio by the fire pit.  Liz and her friend Terri had been to Vegas a week earlier and they saw Cher in concert.  Liz showed us the dress she wore to the concert; silver ribbons held together with staples.  It was AWESOME.

Josie was at Homecoming while I was at the party and I had told her to keep in touch if they went out for dinner or anything.  An hour after I got to Liz's, I realized I'd forgotten to put my phone in my purse.

Oh well, Jay was at home watching the Twins end their season ( just wait till next year!) And since I had gone out of my way earlier in the day to rescue Jay's phone after he lost it, he couldn't really get on me for forgetting mine.

I got a call in mid afternoon from an honest young man named Isaiah who works at a drugstore in Uptown.  He had found Jay's phone in the street and called 'home' to let me know where I could pick the phone up.  Jay was riding his bike from football game to football game and didn't realize it when his saddle bag fell off the back of his bike.

I retrieved the phone, Josie had the best time ever at homecoming and all's well that ends well.
