Yesterday, Katie came home on the bus.  I took Josie out of school, we picked Katie up at the depot at 11:00.  We met Jay and Zack for lunch at Kwans and then Josie, Katie and I drove over to the Supreme Court in St. Paul, where Katie, along with 17 others, was sworn in as a member of the Minnesota Bar.

So now she's officially a lawyer.

It was a nice ceremony, not terribly formal.  All the other new lawyers were dressed in suits but Katie had literally just gotten off a bus from Missoula Montana and was dressed nicely but a bit more casually than the rest.

It's okay, no one seemed to mind.

The ceremony took place in the Supreme Court chamber and one of the associate justices did the honors.

Then we were allowed to take pictures of our new lawyers and since I only had my phone with me, and I have no idea how to get photos from my phone to my computer, I can't post them yet.

The whole thing took about a half hour.

It was lovely.
