The Deathly Hallows I

Josie had been planning for weeks to go to the Midnight showing of Harry Potter; the Deathly Hallows part I with two of her favorite people, Meg and Carolyn.
They bought their tickets ten days ago and they had an elaborate plan that involved all three of them wearing their matching pajamas to the show.
They were very excited.
So was I.
I didn't want to wreck Josie's fun so I didn't' tell her that I got a call last week from one of my favorite people, Pam. She had an opportunity, through a friend of hers, to get in to see a special pre-screening of the movie at 6 p.m., at the Imax at the Minnesota Zoo, for free.
She wanted to know if I'd like to join her.
WHAT???
Well, yes, Pam, I would.
So it was that yesterday evening, while Josie was at Meg's house taking a nap in preparation for being up all night (she took her English test two days early at school so she could sleep in Friday morning) I was in my coat and boots at the front window waiting to be picked up.
Lauren came over to my house and Pam and Janelle picked us up there.
We were all so excited; we're all mega fans of the books and couldn't' wait to see the movie. Lauren's hubby was a bit disappointed that he couldn't join us but that's what happens when you take having a job seriously. His loss!
We had a terrific time, the theater was packed and everyone loved it except maybe for the gal who made the disastrous decision to bring her toddler.
This is not a movie for young children; like the books, the Harry Potter movies have gotten progressively darker, heavier and scarier. This one has a lot of extremely frightening images. I'm talking giant snakes that jump out of the screen, scenes of torture, beloved characters screaming in pain, a freaky old woman dissolving into a snake...scary stuff.
Loved it!!
We all agreed on the ride home that Harry Potter is growing up nicely. I said that if I'd been Hermione, hiding out in the forest for months on end with Harry, something woulda happened. Oh well. That's a different story, I guess,
I was home before Josie and her cohorts even got into the theater.
I did let her sleep in this morning and when I woke her up, told her I'd seen it too so we compared notes on our favorite scenes. It's really good.
