Charlie Walters ran this blurb in his column in the St. Paul Pioneer Press yesterday;

Jay Pivec, who became a hall of fame men's basketball coach during 20 years at Minneapolis Community and Technical College before the school dropped the program after last season, is preparing for his inaugural season at Dakota County Technical College next year.

Pivec and school President Ron Thomas are building the basketball program from scratch and raising funds for a playing facility. The Rosemount junior college will begin with an independent schedule with plans to play home games at the Salvation Army Community Center in St. Paul, Concordia-St. Paul and Augsburg College while providing privately funded scholarships ranging from $3,500 to $5,000 apiece.
