The Strife is O'er

Lent is over.
This was a particularly difficult Lent for me; I gave up not only chocolate but pretty much all sweets. I say 'pretty much' because I still drank diet root beer and ate Cap'n Crunch cereal for dessert. They're both pretty sweet, although not when you consider it was chocolate chip cookies I was dreaming about for six weeks.
Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence for us Catholics, which means no eating between meals and no meat. It's the sort of thing we do all the time on really busy days without giving it a thought but as soon as you know you're NOT SUPPOSED TO, it's a lot harder.
Jay had a hard core Good Friday. He went to Stations of the Cross in the afternoon, came home and watched the Passion of the Christ, then went back to the Basilica for the Tenebrae service. While he was being all good and stuff, I was busy painting song birds and dying Easter eggs.
Hey, somebody's gotta do it.
I did quit painting and watch the movie with him. It's a really good movie. I closed my eyes at the beginning of the scourging because it's really hard to watch. Next thing I knew, I was waking up and Jesus was already on the way of the cross.
I stayed up too late last night because I started watching the fourth season of Mad Men. Not much happens in that show but it's strangely addictive.
I think John Hamm is very attractive but I may be the only woman who watches the show who doesn't think Don Draper is remotely attractive. I think he's a mope and a bore. I prefer Roger. He's fun.
Now that I'm finally done with all the new designs for the spring show, I can pay some attention to some of the projects I've been ignoring for the last month or so.
Like the laundry.
