Easter 2011

We had a great Easter, by the way.
For the first time since 1990, we didn't try to split the Holiday between both our families. We had already made plans to go out to Tim's place before my brother Joe invited everyone to his place. Tim lives 60 miles west of here and Joe lives 15 miles east and we weren't even gonna try to get to both places after church.
We managed to have fun anyway.
I talked with Tyler in the morning. He and his visitors were having a great time and getting ready for church. I miss them and I'm glad that Megan's brother and Mom and entourage went down to TX for Easter. Megan has already sent pictures of the stuff they did. Their new dog Jimmer is a really cute puppy!
Jay couldn't sleep so he got up and went to the Sunrise service. Zack had come over here after work Saturday night so he came with me and Josie and Katie met us at the later mass and when we got home, Jay had brunch all ready for us. He even baked up a batch of cinnamon rolls. Adam joined us for brunch.
Then we went out to Tim's place.
Upon entering the gorgeous log home with floor to ceiling views of Lake Francis, Adam looked around and said "This is my kind of house."
Adam's a hunter and Tim has duck, fox and deer trophy's artfully displayed. Also the remains of at least four black bears are stationed around the place. It's pretty cool.
The day was warm and sunny and although no one took a boat out, there was lots of activity on the dock and all over the yard.
Koby, the two year old, got all us old grandmas excited when he marched in the back door holding a dead bird by the tail. He thought it was the greatest thing ever.
Koby's baby brother, Koltyn was the high point for most of us grandma types.
The day was lovely, the food was good and the company was even better.
We got back home around 8 and Jay ordered a pizza with extra cheese, since cheese is what he gave up for lent. Cheese and scotch. The Easter Bunny brought him a bottle of that in his basket. Everyone was happy.
It was the kind of day that makes it easy to believe that the Gates of Heaven are open.
