So far, every single day of June has been spectacular.  This month is promising to make up for the dismal, cold,. wet weather of the two preceding months.  I think we had a thunderstorm on morning this month, but by noon it had cleared up and was hot and humid.

We've resisted turning on the air conditioning but today it got up to 97 and that's too hot for sleeping so at about 4:30,. I turned it on.

So now I'm freezing.

I got up this morning and decided I was going for a bike ride before it got too hot.  I sat on the porch, drank my coffee, did some needlepoint and ate cereal and for whatever reason decided to run to the store before my bike ride.  I had to deposit my check in the bank so I could order canvas, too.  I usually do that on Thursday but Joanne was sick all last week and wasn't around to write me a check.  She was very apologetic on Saturday when she finally called me and said she had my money.

I don't mind.  I was broke but I have a sugar daddy who buys my groceries when I can't.
Every artist should have one.

So I got my check in the bank, some cash in my pocket and I promptly blew all my cash on fun stuff like shampoo and sunscreen.

It was nice while it lasted.

I hopped on my bike and quickly discovered that I'd missed my chance to ride before it got too hot.  It was already close to 90.  I rode around Harriet, Calhoun and part of Cedar.  I stopped at every fountain and pump to drink but still got a little dehydrated.  I felt sick to my stomach when I got home but two huge glasses of ice water and a little lunch and I was good as new.

As good as new as an old broad like me gets, anyway.

I spent the afternoon working.  Joanne had a yard of #13 she sold me, so I can do a bit more than just the orders on smaller gauge canvas that I have.  The shop need Christmas stockings.  That's good; I like painting them and they sell so everybody's happy and income is generated.

See, that's how it works; you produce something people want to have and they give you money in return for it.  It's not that complicated, I dont' know why our politicians can't figure that out.  It's not brain surgery.

Oh, great.  They'll be in charge of brain surgery in a few years too, if we don't convince them to repeal Obamacare.

Speaking of politics, I'm shocked SHOCKED, I tell you that Anthony Weiner turns out to have been lying from the get go about being an electronic flasher.

For Heaven's sake, not even his mother believed him.

No, he hasn't committed a crime and his political career will probably survive; he's a member of the party that decided twenty years ago that character doesn't matter.

It's not a double standard, it's a matter of one party insisting that the folks they give the power to raise taxes and declare war have standards and one party who doesn't.

The real crime in the Disgusting Case of Anthony Weiner is that the entire story was broken by blogs like the Drudge Report and Big Government.  Where are the so called 'mainstream media' in all this?

Oh, yeah; shilling and running interference for the Democrat party.  I forgot.

As rank and rancid as the political climate is, the weather has finally become summery and that's cause for celebration!

We did celebrate quite a bit this weekend.  Jay and I had a wedding of one of his former players on Saturday evening.  Kevin and Rachel were married at the Centennial Lakes amphitheater.  It was a small wedding; under a hundred guests.  The music was wonderful, the wedding party looked magnificent and the day couldn't have been prettier.

Jay had never been to Centennial Lakes before which is really amazing; he drives right by it all the time.  There's a shopping mall above and down behind the parking ramps is where they built the park, around a beautiful artificial lake that winds along approximately four city block.  There's a large lovely building in the center, which is all windows overlooking the lake.  The wedding reception; a sit down dinner and dance was held there.

The park surrounding the lake has gardens and walks all around it, a miniature golf course on real grass, a croquet pitch and a dock where you can rent paddle boats.  In the winter, when the lake freezes, they plow the whole thing and rent skates out of the main building, which becomes the warming house.  There are huge fireplaces at either end of the building and they fill it with skating benches with storage for your boots.  You can also buy hot cocoa.  All in all, it's a wonderful park all year around and Jay was amazed that he had been completely unaware of it's existence.

Sunday, Jay and I headed East to the River for an open house for our niece Kellie, who just graduated from High School.  Kellie is the youngest child of Jay's cousin Bruce and his wife, Pam.  We dont' see this branch of the family too often but it's always a blast when we do.

We'll be seeing them again next weekend, since Bruce's brother has a son who also graduated.

We've got so many open houses, birthday parties, weddings and a bridal shower this month  that every weekend till the fourth of July is booked up.

good thing I can have all the fun I want during the week.

So far, this has been the best June in memory.
