Beautiful June

Here it is, the ninth of June and it's the first day of the month that wasn't sunny and beautiful.  We had two record setting days this week; it got to be over 100 degrees.  Then, overnight, the temps plunged into the seventies and today it barely cracked sixty.  So far, this is a fun month.

The other day (yesterday?) Zack came over to mow the lawn so his dad could play golf.  When Zack was done mowing, he went downstairs to play Wii and the lamp on the big tv blew up.

so now we only have one tv.

When Jay got home and heard the good news, first he went online to find out where he could buy a new lamp for the tv downstairs.  Turns out we probably have to order one.  Could take several days.

So then Jay did the next logical thing; he bought a new tv for the porch.  He gave Zack the old tv off the porch when he moved out.  We closed the porch this winter so we didn't have to heat it.  Now that the weather's nice, the porch is the best room in the house.  I love watching tv out here.

The new tv is a 32" LCD and it has a higher resolution than either of the big tvs.  We ran into a bit of trouble trying to hook up the cable box from downstairs.  Somewhere in transit, the box broke.

I DIDN'T DO IT.

Maybe I did.  Whatever, it doesn't work anymore.  I don't mind; I hooked up the dvd player and watched the first disk of season 8 of 24, which came from Netflix today.

That was yesterday.  Today, Jay got new cable boxes from Comcast or whoever they call themselves these days.

We watched the first few innings of the Twins game and the picture is unbelievable.  Right now, Jay is off at Open Gym and I'm watching disk 2 as we speak.

I got a ton of work done the last few days.  I took the weekend off because I was busy with weddings and open houses and I didn't' want to work until I got paid for last week.  I couldn't cash my check till Monday, so I didn't work till Monday.  I'm self employed, I can make rules like that for myself.

Monday, I put my check in the bank, ordered canvas and went to work.  Just like the temperatures, I set personal records two days in a row this week.  I could do that all the time if I had the orders.  Five years ago, I had the orders but I wasn't as fast as I am now.

Of course, now the orders just aren't there.  Maybe I'll be able to fill my orders in two days and spend the rest of my time painting watercolors.  Hmmmmm...worth considering.

Or maybe I'll start suffering and write that symphony.
